Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Info@IowaExoticBirds.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We recommend having mineral blocks, cuttle bones,  bath/swim area, sand  perches, food area, water area, give millet as a training or treat.  A nesting area too. With bedding- pine works good. A book on the breed you pick.

We recommend getting the largest cage you can afford or fit in your area/home. Smaller the cage the more it should be let out to fly with supervision.  Play grounds are fun to let them enjoy time out. Toys are a must! Change them out every three months or so.

Fresh water everyday, food in a no mess feeder, cuttlebone holder with cuttlebone. Treat sticks  occasionally.. look up what type of breeding or nesting box you might need for your type of bird. Lava blocks and wood toys for them to chew and clean off beaks with.
